Week 6 Lenses and the Eye
Light radiates from a source in straight lines, or rays.
Light can be made to change direction with the aid of mirrors, lenses and prisms.
Reflection
Define the meaning of the term "normal" in relation to reflection.
State the law of reflection.
Refraction
Describe what is happening to the light transmitted from the straws beneath the water.
|
A ray of light is being refracted as it enters the air/plastic interface and again as it leaves the plastic/air interface.
|
Describe, using the ray diagram how light behaves when it travels from one medium to another. Explain why the straws appear bent beneath the water.
